Broken Compass Presents launched in 2023 as a boutique live music promotion and production company with a simple mission: to think outside the box and bring nationally touring and rising regional acts to intimate stages in Augusta, Georgia.
Our very first event transformed Southbound Smokehouse’s beer garden into a reserved-seating listening room for acclaimed singer-songwriter Angie Aparo, supported by a powerhouse local songwriter round featuring Joe Stevenson, Shaun Piazza, and Will McCranie. Since then, Broken Compass Presents has produced concerts with artists such as Grammy-nominated Aaron Lee Tasjan, Shawn Mullins, T. Hardy Morris, Wheatus, members of Umphrey’s McGee, and emerging acts like Squeaky Feet, Mike Miz, and Elli Perry—staging shows at some of Augusta’s most iconic venues, including the Imperial Theatre, Le Chat Noir, Metro Pub & Coffeehouse, Miller Theater, and Sacred Heart Cultural Center.
Founder Will McCranie brings nearly 25 years of experience as a performing musician and over a decade working in event production and promotion. His background includes collaborations with Gluestick Music, Adams Entertainment, and Friends With Benefits Productions, where he contributed to productions for world-renowned artists such as The Avett Brothers, Jason Mraz, Ben Folds, Gov’t Mule, the 2016 James Brown Family Birthday Bash, The Flaming Lips, Galactic, Lil Uzi Vert, Ms. Sharon Jones, Chris Robinson Brotherhood, Kid Rock, Brothers Osborne, Shooter Jennings, Greensky Bluegrass, Yonder Mountain String Band, Jon Pardi, and many more.
